2) The Home Inspectors Guide to Crawl Space Inspections
Course L2862-02 (2 credits)
·
May 24 from 8 - 10 am
Our course objective is to familiarize home inspectors with the specifics of different crawl space designs, and delve into why certain designs perform better than others. We will also discuss different means of insulating and controlling the conditions within these areas, which includes moisture management and other sources of past failures due to faulty construction, and poor control of the environment. We will use information derived from an expert in the field of Building Science, Dr. Joe Lstiburek, of Building Science Corporation Inc.; a leader in understanding the whys and wherefores of failures created within buildings when things are done poorly and conditions are improperly maintained, This class is designed to assist inspectors in understanding the things that we see daily, but also how these conditions occur. We will also touch on rectifying such conditions.

4) Processes & Procedures for Conducting a Home Inspection- Eaves Down
Course L2798-02 (2 credits)
·
May 24 from 10:15 am - 12:15 pm
This class was designed to go through the processes used to conduct the Exterior portion of a home inspection, starting from the eaves, and working our way all the way down the building to the grounds around the house. It also touches on the procedures learned, used, and tweaked over the years to improve our analysis and the efficiency of our inspection. Face it, we all have our way of doing things, but this class is designed to have you take a hard look at the “what” and the “how” and maybe find some processes and procedures to add to your repertoire. This is an excellent class for newer inspectors and a great recap for seasoned inspectors.
