4) Cutting Edge Features in 21st Century Homes

Course L1108-02 (2 credits) June 15 from 10:15 am - 12:15 pm
The objective of this class is to familiarize inspectors with some of the most recent technological inventions and enhancements that have made their way into our houses! We'll be taking about Smart Electric Panels, Automatic Generators, Solar Panels and Roof Shingles, Powerbanks, Geothermal Heat, and much more! Many of these items were made to improve our homes energy efficiency and convenience using “Smart Technology”, and these are the things we will be seeing more of in the future. We will also discuss technological improvements that have been made to existing systems and components within a house that assist in using less energy and improve indoor air quality and comfort, all the while allowing greater control over these components, thus, our homes. We will familiarize you with their operation, and also go over the procedures for inspecting any of these systems when they fall within our purview as home inspectors. Even where they fall outside our standards, knowing how to give an overview of these systems to our clients will improve your standing as a professional!
